Psalm 27:14 "Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord."

I repeat this verse over and over until I truly believe it in my heart. During my college years, God taught me so much about patience, slowing down, and trusting in His timing. Yet, I still struggle sometimes. It’s difficult to do because as humans, we want control. We want to steer the wheel of our own lives, knowing exactly what will happen, where we’ll be in the future, and how everything will unfold. But God doesn’t work that way. He reveals things little by little, and sometimes, He keeps certain details hidden to strengthen our faith and trust in Him.

Maybe you’re in a season where you feel stuck as if nothing is moving forward. You watch others progress while you remain in the same place. These feelings are common during different stages of life.

College Years

  • Comparing yourself to peers who are ahead of you

  • Struggling financially

  • Experiencing an identity crisis

  • Facing uncertainty and fear of the future

Post-College

  • Job searches not going as expected

  • Feeling like opportunities are passing you by

  • Questioning if you're on the right path

  • Struggling with a lack of progress

Midlife

  • Feeling stuck in the same position without advancement

  • Losing passion for work or life

  • Struggling to balance family and personal growth

No matter what season of trials you're facing, trust in God's timing. Trust God's plan when things seem uncertain, delayed, or difficult. It was during my college years when I made two major changes, leaving me feeling far behind my peers. I just wanted to finish and move on to the next phase of my life, but instead, I felt stuck, hurt, broken, and devastated. My pride was shattered, and I struggled with insecurity and self-worth. When it comes to marriage, He also allowed me to experience the pain of waiting so that I could embrace the gift of singleness and trust in His timing.

If you’re in a similar situation, I just want to remind you, “It’s okay—God’s got you.” Before you were even born, God had a purpose and a plan for you. You are deeply loved by Him.

Feeling stuck does not mean you are forgotten or that you are not enough. Looking back, I see that these moments are crucial for personal growth. They were times of being re-shaped, refined, and transformed. And it's those very seasons of waiting and uncertainty that God is closest to us. The seasons of waiting are not wasted—they are where we learn to hear His voice the most clearly.

3 Things We Can Do

  1. Deepening our relationship with God: Prayer, scripture, and gratitude.

  2. Letting go of Control: Stop forcing things to happen, and surrendering our plans to Him daily.

  3. Meditate on God's promises: Remembering the promises of God will give us the strength to be patient. Lamentations 3:25 – The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.

He Loves You - He Will Provide For You - He Will Protect You - He Will Strengthen You - He Will Answer You - He Will Give You Peace - He Will Save You - He Will Guide You.

2 Corin 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

I love Charles Standley's sermon on Waiting.

Elizabeth Elliot - Every life stage—singleness, marriage, widowhood, or even divorce—is a gift to be received, offered back to God, and used for His purpose. Trust and obedience, not personal fulfillment, lead to true joy in Christ.
